Privacy
Short version: playing needs nothing from you. Only when you save a score do we store a few things, and we never sell or share them.
When you just play
No account, no cookies, no trackers, no ads. Your personal best and sound setting are kept in your own browser (local storage) and never sent to us.
When you save a score
- Name: shown on the leaderboard.
- Email address: used once, to send you a link that confirms the score is yours. It is never shown, and we do not send newsletters.
- Your run: total time, mistakes, the time between letters, and whether you used a keyboard or touchscreen. We use the letter timings to keep impossible scores off the board.
Unconfirmed scores are deleted after 48 hours. Your IP address is used briefly to limit how many scores can be sent at once; it is not stored with your score.
Where it lives
The game runs on Cloudflare. Scores are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database in Western Europe; confirmation emails are sent through Cloudflare Email Service.
Removing your score
Want your name, email and scores deleted? Email privacy@keyboardtypetest.com from the address you played with and we remove everything.
